“A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end…but not necessarily in that order.”
~Jean-Luc Godard
The first time I saw A Clockwork Orange is when I knew I wanted to make movies. Until that point I’d been an art student, focused on drawing and photography, eyeing journalism as a potential career path. But that opening dolly shot – slowly creeping in on Alex’s smirking face – changed everything.
Once I started film school, I gravitated toward editing (yes, I first learned by physically splicing film together) because it combines many artistic disciplines, and because I love the nerdy joy of cutting together thousands of pictures and sounds – like a choose-your-own-adventure with endless possibilities.
I’m a graduate of Boston University, and a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild. My hobbies include drumming, playing and designing tabletop games, photography, and cooking. I live and work in New Hampshire with my wife, two daughters, and Beagle.
